Animal Care Centers - Staff - Acton Highway Location -
Lisa, also known as L ROD because of her addiction to anything sports-related is the Office Manager at both of our locations.
She has been part of the ACC team since 2000. Lisa’s natural leadership abilities make her perfect for her management position in
the hospital (Dr. Miller lovingly calls her a bulldozer…but isn’t that just another word for leader?). Lisa is the mother of three
children Amy, Demi and Jared. She doesn't have much extra time for hobbies, but if there is a sporting event anywhere near, she manages
to find the time. Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Motor Speedway....and Tim McGraw...plus her own dogs Brutus and Daisy (Boxers)
and 2 Kitties Gracie and Kiara, somehow all manage to catch her attention. The other employees enjoy working with Lisa because she is
fun to be around and has a surprisingly quick wit.
Robin Chestnut has been part of Animal Care Centers Acton Highway location since 1997. She joined our team as a member of our Pet
Caretaker department and later changed to the Client Relations department. With this move she found her “calling”. Robin gets the
best of both worlds with not only helping the pets, but the clients as well. Robin is happily married to her husband, Don for over
fifteen years. They share their home with three “furry” children: Dewy, and Bobby, both kitties, and Abby Lynn, a Toy Poodle.
Robin was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, a small town in East Texas. She moved to Granbury in 1992. Although Robin misses the
fall colors in East Texas, she loves Granbury and plans to be here for many years to come.
Gayle was born in Forth Worth but has lived in Granbury since 1982. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Gary for over
40 years. She has two children, Gary Jr who lives in San Antonio with his wife and 3 children, and Patrick who lives in Alvin, Texas.
She has worked at our Morgan St location for 22 years, then retired briefly and came back part time to be a part of the new Animal Care
Centers as the inventory manager for both clinics, which she really loves. In her spare time she enjoys reading, working in the yard,
boating, and visiting her boys and grandkids in south Texas.
Judy joined the team at Animal Care Centers of Texas, formally Hood County Animal Clinic, in 2001. She began her career with us as a groomer’s assistant, then “switched hats” to become trained in performing the duties of a veterinary nurse. Judy has two beautiful daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter. She shares her life with her husband, two dogs, Dominic and Red Dawg, and a kitty named Sebastian. Judy is very bonded to the clients and patients at ACC and considers them as part of her family. Judy enjoys the out doors and being around here family and friends.
Lisa joined the team at Animal Care Centers (Morgan) in December 2004. She helps direct and organize a vital area of our hospital, the nursing department. When she joined our team, Lisa brought a passion for the veterinary profession that began the day she was born. Her father is a veterinarian, so she has been in this atmosphere since she was little. Lisa received her Bachelors of Science degree from Tarleton State University. She was born in Clifton, Texas, a small town just outside of Waco. She married Roland in 2008 and they have two great dogs, Bailey and Bevo.
Tiffany started working with Animal Care Centers in 2001 and has worked in every position available from the front of the building to the back. She is currently a Nurse at our Acton Hwy location. She has twin boys Kyle and Nicholas. She stays busy with football and other various activities that involve her teenage boys. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family which includes 10 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 bearded dragons.
Danielle was born in Arlington, Texas, and currently resides in Dublin. Danielle started working with us in March 2005. She thoroughly enjoys learning and has demonstrated this well by being cross-trained in several departments. Like many of us at ACC, Danielle grew up with animals varying from squirrels and sugar gliders to dogs and cats. Currently, she shares her home with two Papillions, one Border Collie mix, and a Heeler mix. When not at work, Danielle raises, shows, trains, and rides Texas Longhorns. She has been doing this since 1999 and has now acquired a small herd that she is very proud of.
Chrystal joined our team in April 2007 and has had such a positive impact on us ever since. She was born in Euless, TX and moved to Granbury in March of 07. She has been a veterinary technician since 1998 and has previously worked at a few different clinics, taking breaks in between to have two beautiful boys, Richochet and Rowdy. She has been married to her soul mate for 8 years, and they share their family with 4 dogs and 4 cats. In her spare time, Chrystal enjoys spending time with her family, whether they’re hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATVs, or watching Hot Rods.
Jody joined our team in 2006. She started in our Client Relations department, but has been cross-trained as a nurse. Jody loves her job and it shows. Originally from Irving, Texas Jody moved to Granbury in 1992 with her family of six brothers and one sister. In April of 2006, Jody married her best friend, Lee McDonald. They share their home with their son, Parker, and their three dogs and one cat. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, being active and spending her time with her family and friends.
Kristi started working at our Morgan Street location in Spring 2009, and is now working at our Acton Hwy location. She loves working with the animals, and thoroughly enjoys the people she works with. She is currently expecting her first child, and after her maternity leave, she plans on becoming a Veterinary Nurse full time. She loves spending time with her dogs, Baby Boy and Shelby.
Cassidy began working for our Acton Hwy location in Fall of 2008. She began working as a Pet Caretaker, and recently has started cross training as a Nurse Assistant. Cassidy is married to her best friend and enjoys spending time with him and her 3 Poodle babies. She enjoys every aspect of her job, but especially the interaction with the patients as well as the clients. Cassidy has plans to attend college, and become a Veterinary Nurse full time.
Chelsea joined our team in April of ’07. She always enjoys making us laugh, and loves to help others. She has been a resident of Granbury her entire life, and shares a home with her cat Lyle, and dogs Spanky (Lab/Border Collie Mix), Lefty (Maltese Mix), and Alice (Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier Mix). She has recently taken on the challenge of decorating our New Spa Luxury suites, which she thoroughly enjoys. When Chelsea isn’t at work, she enjoys reading, writing, fishing, photography, walking her dogs, attending concerts, and spending time her friends and family.
Kristyn joined our team in late August of 2008. She has been a resident of Granbury since she was in grade school. Kristyn is married to Kelly Langdon and has 3 dogs and a cat. Last year they built a house out on the family ranch here in Granbury. In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, spending time with her family, and spending time outdoors.
Donna was born in New Orleans and moved to Granbury in 1987. She has been a groomer at our Acton Hwy location since 1998 but has been in the profession for over 21 years. She considers herself a perfectionist in her craft. She is always on top of her game thanks to the dedicated personnel and teamwork our grooming staff has. She and her husband share their home with their Schnauzers and a Toy Poodles. Her hobbies include horseback riding, going to the beach, and gardening.
Debbie has been grooming professionally since 1982. She bought her first pair of dog clippers when she was 9 years old, and paid for them by herself by bathing all the dogs in the neighborhood. Now looking back she can't believe how those people trusted her to give their dogs haircuts!!! During her last year at Texas A&M, she decided that grooming was really what she wanted to do. She attended The New York School of Dog Grooming, which is one of the best grooming schools in the country (it also gave her a chance to live in the BIG city). Although it was exciting, she was glad to return to Texas and she has been grooming ever since. She has been a groomer with our Acton Hwy location since 2003. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter Jade and showing Australian Shepard's.
Vicki originally joined our team in 2000 as a Grooming Assistant. She recently joined us again as a Groomer, and has been enjoying every minute. She has several years of experience, and we are very happy to have her back. While not working, she enjoys her horse, gardening, and hanging out with her 6 dogs.
Kim joined our Acton Hwy team in December 2008 as a Pet Caretaker. She loved being a caretaker, but when we needed a Grooming Assistant, Kim stepped up to the plate. She loves the one on one interaction with the dogs, as well as the camaraderie of the grooming department. When she is not working, she likes to play tennis, ride horses, and spend time with her fiancé and their 3 dogs – Cricket, Scamper, and JD.
Mariana has been working with our Acton Highway location since August of 2008. She is working hard to earn money to go to college to become a Dog Trainer. In her spare time she likes to draw, spend time with her friends, talk on the phone, and watch movies with everyone. She also loves to spend time with her dog, Killer.
What a joy Sabina has been! As soon as she joined us in June 2008, our caretaking department has been outstanding! Sabina lives in Cresson and shares her home with an assortment of cats, dogs, longhorns, fish, a snake, and a hamster. When Sabina is not working (which is not often!), she enjoys reading, cross stitching, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Cody worked at our Acton Hwy location in 2005 for the summer, and returned in the summer of 2009. Cody got his Associates Degree in Engineering in 2007, and plans to go back to school eventually. He is the son of our groomer, Donna. Cody enjoys spending time with his son, reading books, and drawing. He plans to get an Australian Shepherd in the very near future.
Brandon started working at our Acton Hwy location in the summer of 2009. He resides in Glen Rose, where he has been for the last 13 years. He recently got a dog named Wally, whom he loves spending time with. While not working, he enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.
Vickie has been a part of the Granbury community since 1993 and is an avid animal lover. She joined our Acton Hwy team in Spring 2009. She spends most of her free time either with her family, curled up with a good book, or playing with her three dogs: Sophie, Sugar, and Yoofie.
- Morgan Street Location -
When you come to our Morgan Street location, one of the first friendly faces you will see is Cheyenne. She joined our Client Relations team in October 2004. Cheyenne was born and raised here in Granbury. Prior to working at ACC, Cheyenne was in the nursing and childcare fields. She is a single mother of two, Ryan and Celeste, and maintains a very busy schedule. Cheyenne and her family share their home with a rescued mix breed dog named Celine, two turtles, and two Betas. When she is able to grab some spare time, Chey enjoys dancing, soccer and laughing. It is rare to see her without a bright smile on her face.
Sabrina moved to Granbury in 2004 after graduating from Southern Arkansas University with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Sciences. She taught seventh grade Science for a year and then decided to return to her real love of working with animals. Sabrina is a Certified Veterinary Assistant and she is currently working toward being a Registered Veterinary Technician. She became a member of Animal Care Centers in June of 2007. She and her husband, Bobby are the proud parents to three wonderful “kids”, Gus (Jack Russell Terrier), Gabby (cat), and Chloe (Cocker Spaniel). She hopes to add an English Bulldog to her family in the near future.
Faitha started working with our team in November 2007. She was born and raised in a small town in East Texas and is fairly new to the Granbury area. She is married with two beautiful daughters and four dogs. She and her family spend a lot of time going to livestock shows, where her girls show goats. She really enjoys riding her motorcycle and going out on her boat. She loves the Dallas Cowboys, and anytime it’s football season, you can bet that Faitha is watching the game!
In 2005, Animal Care Centers Morgan Street welcomed Linda to our team. New to the veterinary profession at the time, Linda successfully went through much training to become proficient at her role as Veterinary Nurse. She is a single mom of a 15 year-old daughter, Amanda, a Granbury High School Stowaway. Besides staying busy working full-time and raising a teenage daughter, Linda also cares for 3 dogs (Freckles, Molly and Daisy) and 2 cats (Cowboy and Hermoine). When not working she enjoys gardening, cooking, camping, hunting for Indian artifacts after a good rainstorm and spending time with her daughter and her fiancé, Larry.
Shawna has been at our Acton location since the day after she graduated from high school in 1990. YES, since the day after she graduated high school! In 2006, we decided to, as Dr. Miller put it, “Kick her out of the nest!” Shawna moved over to our Morgan Street location in an effort to unite the clinics. It’s a sad time for those who are so accustomed to seeing her happy face at Acton Highway, but this way her naturally outgoing personality will have the chance to meet lots of new people. Shawna was blessed in 2006 with a handsome little boy, Jesse. She has been married to Jeff since 1996. The three of them also share their home with their cat, Hope. Shawna enjoys boating, cooking, martial arts and spending time with Jeff and Jesse.
In 2006, ACC welcomed Allene to our outstanding team of Pet Caretakers at our Acton Highway location. She has since moved to our Morgan Street location, and they welcomed her with open arms! She has been married to Donnie (a.k.a. Billy Don) since 1971. They have three wonderful children: Lucy, Jerry Don and Debra. Allene and Billy Don have also been blessed with eleven grandchildren. Allene and Billy Don are pet parents to two dogs: Al and Gidget, two cats: Flop and Cocoa, one Cockatiel: Good Boy, two goldfish and four African Albino Frogs. Allene and her family belong to the Bible Baptist Church. Her hobbies include yard work, reading, fishing, swimming and of course, doing these things with her family and friends make it even better.
Kelly has been grooming pets for seven years now, and joined our team in August of 2005. She loves animals and the clients that they belong to. She has four children and three grandchildren. She has one dog named Aly who is a rescue dog. Aly is very active and keeps her busy by playing fetch nonstop. Kelly enjoys taking pictures, scrapbooking, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
Joanie is the loving mother to two lovely little girls and a handsome little boy. Her children are her world. She also shares her home with her Chihuahua and her Terrier mix. Joanie has such a big heart and it really shows when she is working with the animals.
