Dr. Miller Dr. Hardwick Dr. Taber
Don Miller, DVM
Now working part time with ACC, Dr. Miller has a long and extensive background in the veterinary field. He co-owned a feline exclusive hospital in San Antonio as well as a surgical referral hospital and a dog and cat hospital while there. While in Granbury, he was owner of the two locations of Animal Care Centers, but when he decided part time retirement looked so appealing, he sold the Acton Highway location and is spending his time with the clinic on Morgan Street. When he is not working in Granbury, you can find him and his wife Nancy in Brady, Texas, living and loving the outdoor life and trying to find time to all the things he always said he wanted to do 'someday'. Getting a little bit of a break from the pressures of every day practice, he has rediscovered how much fun veterinary medicine is again and is thoroughly enjoying the pets, the people and the challenges. His particular veterinary special interest is in orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.
Janet Hardwick, DVM
A veterinarian since 1988, Dr. Hardwick graduated from Texas A&M and practiced in Midland before coming to Granbury. She began her love of all things medical as a Registered Nurse, but to the delight of many of us, decided to change directions. After 10 years of veterinary medicine in Midland, she joined us in 2000. She and her husband Preston share their home with multiple cats (Jack, Tyrone, Sammie, Leroy, Stacie, and Cactus), and their snake Monte. It’s easy to see that one of her special veterinary interest involves cats, but her other favorite is buffaloes! Guess you will have to ask her about that one! She loves traveling because of all the new things you get to do, but she especially loves seeing fabulous scenery. When she gets a day off you will probably find her reading or shopping, both of which she is an expert at. Loving the environment, the high standards of care and the great people are why she loves working with Animal Care Centers.
John Taber, DVM
Being passionate about bagpipes should be our first clue that Dr. Taber is a unique man! He and his wife Valerie share that passion and travel all over the country competing and continuing to learn more about them. He also loves good books and airplanes and with his pilots license, is able to see lots of wonderful places. They share their home with Gator, a black lab, and Geist, a rescued German Shepherd. His long career as a veterinarian with the US Army took him all over the world caring for dogs. Since retirement from the military (when he's not working with us), you will probably find him at home, dressed in grungy work clothes, covered in dirt, oil and grease and a big smile on his face. His contagious enthusiasm makes him a great asset to our team.
"In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him." ~Dereke Bruce
